The aim of the present invention is to create a device as simple and handy as possible which could be manipulated at a convenient distance from the excrement, allowing nevertheless several successive pick-ups of excrements of various shapes and consistencies not only in the vicinity of the animal's dwelling place, but also on the field, i.e. on the spot during a walk, a chase and similar. According to the invention, a storage box (4) for collecting excrements is mounted to a housing (6), where beside an additional storage box (5) for gritting material, there is also an operating mechanism (2) driven by an operating pole (3) by means of which a scraper (1) and its working plate (11) can be moved towards or away from the above storage box (4) for excrements. The mentioned operating mechanism (2) consists of two crosswise arranged racks (21, 22) and a pinion (23) which is driving both of them simultaneously. The horizontally movable rack (21) is connected to the scraper (1) and the vertically movable one (22) to the operating pole (3).
