COPOLYAMIDES WITH LONG-CHAIN POLYAMIDE UNITS

A copolyamide composition having long-chain monomers of 9 to 12carbon atoms as long-chain building blocks, and second monomers.The second monomers comprise a diamine of the formulaH2N - R - NH2wherein R is a radical of certain aliphatics, araliphatics,cycloaliphatics, or mixtures thereof. The diamine is reacted withan aromatic dicarboxylic acid, a portion of which may be replacedby an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid. Molded shapes made from thecopolyamides are also disclosed.
