The invention concerns electronic labels each associated with a product for its identification. The invention is characterised in that the label comprises a device for modifying the impedance returned on the antenna using a variable modulation resistor (26') and/or a tuning capacitor (16') with variable capacitance whose values are modified by a circuit (30) based on certain parameters such as the supply voltage Vdd, the label operating conditions, the binary messages to be transmitted to the reading device. Thus, it is possible to adapt the modulation resistor (26') and the tuning capacitor (16') to obtain optimal operating conditions with respect to the electronic label intended application.
