FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: claimed method comprises treating quaternized tertiary aminomethylated acrylamide polymer emulsions by (1) regulating pH from 3.6 to 4.8, (2) adding formaldehyde acceptor, (3) adjusting such content of water in aqueous phase so that it contains 10-45 wt % quaternized aminomethylated acrylamide polymer and (4) heating the resulting emulsion from 40 to 80 C for 3-20 hours so that it is more stable, capable of being inverted in water independently of temperature of water or pH of flocculant medium and has superb capability to dehydration. The present invention describes polymer preparation by the claimed process. The claimed process of flocculation of suspended solid particles comprises adding to suspended solid particles synthetic flocculant material comprising aqueous solution of polymer prepared by the claimed method of treating acrylamide polymer microemulsion. Unlike identical polymers prepared by the well known process, polymers prepared by the claimed process are useful as dilute solutions to form synthetic polymeric flocculant medium.
