FIELD: disposal of radioactive wastes. SUBSTANCE: method for burying radioactive compartments in water area includes the following procedures. Reinforced-concrete cylindrical semi- containers with sealed end wall are made on separate floating platforms and then conveyed over water surface and coaxially installed with their open sides facing each other and reactor compartment placed in-between; then they are joined together. Reinforcement is then passed to through channels in semi-container end walls and tensioned by means of hydraulic jacks until both semi- containers are tightly joined together and reactor compartment is fully arranged within container with reinforcement pre-stressed to rated value, this procedure being followed by injection of grout into channels. Container holding the reactor compartment is conveyed over water surface to burial point. EFFECT: facilitated procedure. 6 cl
