This new method purifies effluent air laden with volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Equipment includes a regenerative cylindrical body containing adsorbent. Opposing sectors on both end faces form inlets and outlets for the air being purified. Cylinder and sectors rotate relatively about the axis. Further sectors admit and release hot air desorbing pollutants. Cooling air is also passed through. Pollutants desorbed, are burned off in an incinerator using additional air from the cooling process. Novel features include two chambers filled with thermal storage masses, connected to the incinerator combustion chamber. These recuperative chambers are worked in alternation.
