An inorganic pigment which is coated with one or more UV-A and/or UV-B filters with a melting point of over 35 (preferably of over 50) degrees C, is new. The finished product is obtained by adding the pigment to a melt of the UV filters, and allowing the mixture to cool to its solid state, preferably to room temperature (20 degrees C).
