An extra identity pass reader (ALE) reads pass information, which is then input to a central data store, where a comparison device (VE) only compares the read-in pass data with the stored personnel data relating to the pass. Access control device can use either an automated pass reader device (ALE) and or may use an acoustic recognition process for a selected word spoken by the person trying to gain access or can use video recognition, e.g. of a finger print.
