The fuel is pumped (2) from a tank (1) through a filter (3) to the injector valve (5) via a fuel distribution tube (6) connected to a pressure regulator (7) between the inlet manifold (8) and the tank. The power supply line (35) to the injector incorporates two cores and also conveys a signal representative of the electric resistance of the electromagnet winding and hence of the temp. of the fuel. The measurement is made during intervals between injection pulses and processed by a resistance-to-voltage converter (34) which may be included in the controller (4).
