This invention relates to a process and device for atleast preventing complete functioning of a taximeter orchronotachograph in the event of fraud at the level of theoutput wires of the electronic sensor.The device comprises an electronic device placed in animpregnable envelope, which tests at least one of theinternal characteristics of the active dipole presentbetween these output wires and/or at least one of thecharacteristics of the signal present at its terminals,which compares this or these characteristics with one orseveral reference values, and which at least triggers offan electronic anti-fraud action of the taximeter orchronotachograph in the event of non-conformity with this or thesereference values.
