摘要
A procedure for making medals, plaques or shields with outlines of portraits, decorations or articles taken from photographs consists of taking an impression from a photograph with the aid of a black-and-white scanner to obtain a film, correcting the film on paper and using the result to engrave a metal plate by means of typogravure. The metal plate is cut out and treated by electrolysis so that it can be used as a matrix in a mould from which the medal or other article is cast, after which the outlines can be filled in with a varnish, ink or paint.
