The invention concerns a method for treating, for purposes of destruction, natural or artificial fibrous mineral materials, with toxic risks, comprising the use of mineral compositions in aqueous solution for immobilising the fibers of the substances and the purging with inert gas the resulting products by thermal treatment at about 800 to 1000 DEG C.
