The cylinder head (1), having combustion chambers in its lower face connected to inlet and outlet ducts and a circuit for the coolant liquid. The circuit has a central passage (12) running lengthwise through the cylinder head above the combustion chambers and a collecting gallery (21) above the exhaust ducts, with separate cavities connected to the inlet and exhaust ducts of each combustion chamber. The lengthwise passage and gallery open onto one end of the cylinder head with separate outlets.
