PURPOSE: To mechanically grade nuts having shell and nuts free from shell by feeding nuts one by one, analyzing sound generated by rolling and operating a grading apparatus. ;CONSTITUTION: Nuts to be graded in a hopper 1 are fed one by one to a uniaxial screw feeder 4 and moved while rolling in one row by a spiral 3. The generated sound is collected by a microphone 5-1 and fed through an amplifying circuit 6 and a filter circuit 7 to a relay circuit 8 and a relay of a solenoid valve 10 of a grading apparatus 19 is driven by the relay circuit 8.
