PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a string-shaped konjak (paste made from the starch of devil's- tongue) compatible with seasonings, having excellent appearance and palatability and useful as a health food, etc., by spirally winding a long konjak noodle around the outer circumference of a core part to integrate the noodle to the core part and form an outer surface of the string-shaped konjak. ;SOLUTION: This string-shaped konjak is composed of a core part 71 composed of a plurality of continuous konjak noodles integrated with each other to form a bundle and an outer surface part 72 composed of one or more continuous konjak noodles spirally wound on and integrated to the outer circumference of the cord part 71. Preferably at least one of the continuous konjak noodles constituting the core part 71 and the continuous konjak noodles constituting the outer surface part 72 are colored. The string-shaped konjak 70 is produced by extruding a kneaded konjak downward through a perforated plate having plural nozzles to form a core part 71 integrated in the form of a bundle, spirally winding one or more continuous konjak noodles around the outer circumference of the core part to effect the integration with the core part and heating and coagulating the obtained string-shaped kneaded konjak.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
