PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form the waveform data of an attack waveform and a loop waveform that possess the properties of the original waveform and that cause no noise at the time of reproduction. ;SOLUTION: The data of the original waveform is written in a waveform memory 9 through a write circuit 11 or the like. The CPU 4 analyzes the frequency of this original waveform with regard to plural sections mutually staggered timewise, determining in each section the frequency component of the original waveform belonging to such section. In addition, a loop part is set in the original waveform, adjusting the phase and amplitude of each of its frequency component so that the continuity is secured of the temporal change in the phase and amplitude, at the time of transfer of the loop part from the ending position to the starting, and synthesizing the data of the loop waveform from each frequency component of the post-adjustment loop part. Furthermore, the waveform data is synthesized for the attack waveform corresponding to the rising part of the original waveform in such a manner as to match the loop waveform.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
