PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an earthquake-resisting beam as the earthquake-resisting reinforcement of a rigid-frame pier of a viaduct that has the fear of collapse due to horizontal load in an earthquake.;SOLUTION: In a steel rigid-frame pier constructed of common steel or high- tension steel, an earthquake-resisting beam 10 with dead soft steel 12a, 12b, 20 placed on a portion thereof is replaceably provided, the yield point of the dead soft steel 12a, 12b, 20 being about half that of common steel.
