PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dwelling unit which has high degree of freedom of room arrangement and has good characteristics as a structural element of a multiple dwelling house, and a multiple dwelling house formed by continuously arranging the units at a low cost. ;SOLUTION: Three sides 2a, 2b, 2b of an outer peripheral wall of each dwelling unit 1 forming a multiple dwelling house are formed by an earthquake resistant frame, and only the open surface is formed by structural posts and beams. All of the interior of the dwelling unit 1 is a free space, so that there is no limitation on installing partition walls and furniture. The outer peripheral walls 2b are opposite to each other at a designated space to form a continuous body, and a common use corridor 51 and a balcony 54 are provided, and a staircase 52, an elevator 53 and a stairwell are provided between the dwelling units to form a comfortable multiple dwelling house. The dwelling units can be connected to each other with the outer peripheral walls 2b of the sides oppositely abutting to each other so as to construct a multiple dwelling house in a narrow lot.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO
