PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connection method and a connection structure for a power composite cable containing an optical cable, by which the connection of the optical cable can be performed independent of the connection of a power cable, and which enables the shortening of the connection work time, and can lower the manufacture cost of a connection box. ;SOLUTION: A protective tube 3 for covering the connection between both power cables, and protective caps 4 and 4' for blocking both ends of this protective tube 3, on power composite cables 1 and 1' containing each optical cable, are used. The optical cable of one power composite cable 1 or 1' containing an optical cable is led out through the protective cap 4' or 4 on the other power composite cable 1' or 1 containing an optical cable, and the fellow optical cables are connected outside the protective tube 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
