PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for obtaining a sample spectrum. ;SOLUTION: This single-beam type spectrometer is composed so as to measure a sample spectrum by comparing a background spectrum obtained in the state without a sample with a spectrum obtained in the state with the sample, and includes an emitter 10 for analysis, a means for receiving radiation transmitting through a sample station 12 and radiation reflected from the sample station 12, and a processing means 16 for processing a signal from the receiving means and for providing spectrum data. The processing means 16 is composed so as to record plural background spectrum profiles during a prescribed period, and is composed so as to analyze the profiles statistically in order to produce the background profile based on totalized background data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
