METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GROWING SEEDLING THROUGH THE WATER CULTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the seedlings from being contaminated with microorganisms and facilitate the control of the device for the water culture by placing a mat- like nursery bed on the supporting plate and circulate the water beneath the support plate with a prescribed distance from the support plate. SOLUTION: A mat-like nursery bed 1 for growing seeds or seedlings is placed on the supporting plate 2 and a water flow path is disposed beneath the supporting plate 2 to circulate water so that the water surface 3 may keep a prescribed distance. The mat-like nursery bed 1 is prepared by forming the rice chaff, pulp, rock wool or the like to mats. The water to be circulated is preferably warm. The supporting plate 2 is preferably partitioned according to the shape and size of the nursery bed in order to inhibit the infestation and contamination of microorganisms. In addition, in order to efficiently circulate water, the water flow path is made of a vertically double-path way. In a preferred embodiment, the whole nursery system is shielded with vinyl sheet or the like in order to keep the humidity and temperature of the nursery beds at prescribed levels.
