ALGA-CONTAINING MULCHING SHEET AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alga-containing mulching sheet which improves a problem of wood protection due to the employment of paper pulp and a problem of difficulty in the biological degradation of the paper pulp, and to provide a method for producing the alga-containing mulching sheet. ;SOLUTION: This alga-containing mulching sheet is obtained by adding algae to paper pulp and then making the paper from the mixture. The alga-containing mulching sheet is based on the following knowledge and the like. When pulp having a beat freeness of about 400 cc as the result of a beating with a beating machine 1 is used on the production of paper, conditions of freeness and yield required for the paper can simultaneously be satisfied. When an agent for improving the yield is added in an amount of 5,000 ppm, the chlorella yield of hand-made paper is about 70%. When the wet chlorella-containing paper has a dryness of 35%, a strength corresponding to 60 g/m2 of bleached needle-leaf tree pulp is obtained.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
