PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote cooling ability by gas by placing a structure with a high heat transfer coefficient in an air flow path in between a high temperature wall and a low temperature wall of the device in parallel to the high temperature wall and the low temperature wall. SOLUTION: In a gas cooling path constituted of a high temperature wall 1 and a low temperature wall 2, a radiation structure 3 with a high convection heat transfer coefficient in vertical direction to the wall surface are placed at multiple elevations. After reactor shut down, the heat in the core is transferred to the containment by way of sodium passing the core, the containment wall surface works as a high temperature wall surface 1, heats surrounding cooling gas 4, causes natural convection in the external air in an air flow path and continuously removes heat from the containment. Here, the radiation structure 3 receives radiation heat from the high temperature wall surface 1 and contacts the cooling gas 4, widens the area generating convection heat transfer and promotes integral heat transfer of the system. The radiation structure 3 is designed so that the promotion effect of radiation-convection heat transfer area exceeds a convection heat transfer reduction.
