PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of activated carbon for humidity control by which an activated carbon for humidity control performing reversible adsorption and desorption of water vapor is produced under comparatibly mild conditions. ;SOLUTION: Polycarbonate as a thermoplastic resin is heated from a room temp. to 250°C in a nitrogen atmosphere at 10°C/min and then heated from 250°C to 400°C at 2°C/min temp. for 5 min and then kept at the temp. for 5 min and theses intermittently rising temp. operations are repeated (for low temp. raising period, the average temp. rising rate of 1°C/min). Then, the resin is further heated from 400°C to 650°C at which the polycarbonate shows constant weight, at 5°C/min to obtain activated carbon. The activated carbon is used as a humidity controlling material which reversibly adsorbs and desorbs water vapor in 35 to 60% humidity range.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
