The electronic system for tracing a stolen or missing object consists of an Application Specific Integrated Circuit - ASIC, which is embedded in a sabotage-resistant block of plastic, attached to the object. The ASIC may be a digital pager type with a power use of 1 or 2 mW or an analogue FSK transmission type with a power use of between 4 and 10 mW.
