Payload (20) is contained in an elongated case (1) of a spin-stabilised projectile having several grooves parallel to the longitudinal axis of the projectile on its inside surface to hold the columnar (21) payload in place. An axial fixing arrangement (10) is attached to the case at the front of the load, while a partition wall (7) is provided between the payload chamber and the explosive material chamber, having a damping arrangement (18). The damping arrangement is preferably a gap containing air. The payload is preferably divided into parallel columns and the grooves have the shape of cylinder sectors with curvature smaller than the curvature of the columns.
