The present invention relates to a method for manufac-turing a bulb bar and also to a bulb bar produced inaccordance with the method. The bulb bar is manufactu-red by steps of:- separately rolling a bulb-part (2);-separately rolling a flat bar-part (3); andwelding the bulb-part (2) to the flat bar-part (3).The bulb-part (2) is rolled to a flangeless shape soas to enable a web-part (3) whose dimensions have beenselected appropriately to a bulb bar (1) of requisitebending strength to be welded to a longitudinallyextending edge region (8, 9) of the bulb-part and toenable heat generated during the welding process to beconducted into the bulb-part. The aforementionedlongitudinally extending edge region includes bevelledsurfaces (8, 9) which form respectively a longitudinally extending supportive and contact region and alsoa joint preparation for a subsequent welding process.
