METHOD OF REQUESTING AND PROCESSING INTERRUPT IN A MULTI-PROCESSOR INTERRUPT CONTROLLER FOR MULTI-PROCESSOR SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for requesting and processing a multiprocessor interrupt in a multiprocessor system is provided to process a direct interrupt and an arbitration interrupt via an interrupt bus. CONSTITUTION: When a synchronous signal of an interrupt bus is accepted under an idle state(401), an interrupt arbitration is tried(402). If a winning interrupt source is determined as a result of the arbitration, an interrupt request procedure begins(403). If an interrupt source wins the arbitration, and has an interrupt grade of the direct interrupt, this direct interrupt is processed(411,412,404-407). If the interrupt source wins the arbitration, and has the interrupt grade of the arbitration interrupt, this arbitration interrupt is processed(421-427,404-407). If a response is not received after the direct interrupt and the arbitration interrupt are processed, a current state is changed to the idle state.
