FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: sulfur-containing sample is dissolved in 1: 4 v/v acetone- hexane mixture and summary sulfur is determined by gas chromatography technique in combination with atomic-emission spectroscopy using capillary column with fixed phase based on grafted 5% diphenylpolysilixane and dimethyl sulfone (5•10-4 mg/ml elementary sulfur level) as standard reference solution. Chromatographic process is conducted at temperature from 60 to 280 C involving helium as gas carrier and hydrogen as gas reactant.
