FIELD: biotechnology, genetic engineering, molecular biology. SUBSTANCE: recombinant plasmid DNA has human cytomegalovirus gene UL 32 fragment that encodes the total hydrophilic site (3 antigenic epitopes) of basic matrix phosphoprotein pp 150 and 3'-end located DNA fragment that encodes polyhistidine tract used for purification of protein by affinity chromatography method. Structure provides effective biosynthesis of polypeptide. Obtained recombinant polypeptide shows antigenic properties of human cytomegalo-virus. The use of this antigen in immunoenzyme assay for detection of cytomegalovirus-specific immunoglobulins in patient blood shows 98-99% of sensitivity and specificity for IgG-human cytomegalovirus and 80-90% for IgM-human cytomegalo-virus.
