Bead mill, with rotary labyrinth bead separator, for wet grinding of flowable feedstock

At the top of the inner milling cavity is arranged a bead/milled product separator (34) with a central product outflow (35). The separator has an interleaved labyrinth of outer fixed disks (63) and inner disks (70) attached to a head (66) which is rotated due to its connection with the rotor (21,42). The device allows passage of the product slurry, but retains the beads within the mill. Typically with beads of upper size limit c = 1.5 mm, the gap between the separator fixed and rotated disks is between e = 0.1 * c and 0.7 * c mm. The connection between the head (66) and the rotor drive head (21,42) can be via a friction clutch, pegs, or other mating profile devices.
