The rotor (1) comprises a shaft (2) carrying an iron lamination stack (9). A ring type concentric surrounding element is provided at the endface of the commutator (15), facing the iron lamination stack (9). Using this, the wire sections forming the start and the end of the respective coils are securely connected. The ring shaped element is made of a deformable material and the wire sections are at least partly embedded in the material.
