Nicotine and/or its salt is used in the preparation of a transdermal medicament for the treatment of schizophrenia. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a medicinal device for the transdermal administration of nicotine and/or its salt for the treatment of schizophrenia; and (2) a method for the treatment of schizophrenia involving transdermal administration of nicotine and/or its salt.
