At least two different operational modes are provided for the control, the operating parameters or control parameters of the modes being calculated and/or determined within time slots. The operating or control parameters of an active operational mode are calculated in a first time slot, and those of a non-active mode are calculated in a further time slot. The first time slot has shorter time intervals than the further time slot. An apparatus for controlling operating sequences is also claimed.
