Self-dispersible, curable epoxy resin for use in coating materials, obtained by reacting epoxy resin with a poly:functional phenol and the adduct of an aromatic poly:epoxide and a polyoxyalkylene-amine

Self-dispersible, curable epoxy resins are obtained by reacting (a) 1.0 equivalent epoxy resin, (b) 0.01-1.0 equivalent polyfunctional phenol and (c) 0.005-0.5 amine-epoxide adduct, in which component (c) is obtained by reacting an aromatic polyepoxide with a polyoxyalkylene-amine in an equivalent ratio of (1:0.10)-(1:0.28). Independent claims are also included for (i) aqueous dispersions containing these resins; and (ii) a process for the production of these resins by reacting the above components (a, b, c) together.
