A partial line section is separated from the remaining lines automatically in regular time intervals using electrically operable gas valves (2-4). A line section to be monitored is flushed over a superimposed bypass (7) with test gas for temporarily pressure drop measurement. Then the bypass is closed again automatically and the partial line section connected with the remaining gas lines again. An Independent claim is included for: (a) a gas lines tightness measurement device
