The combustion chamber (2) is enclosed by an air channel (8) having cold air inlet (10) and warm air outlet (16). The channel remains in thermal contact with the chamber (2). Both the inlet and outlet are so positionally related that when the chamber is fired, this sets up an independent air flow. Preferably inlet and outlet are arranged on the underside and top of the respective stove respectively and the chamber (2) consists of several segments (4), each containing an air channel and respectively forming a combustion air inlet and room air-warming outlet. One segment (4) is divided into subsegments, one with air channel (8), the segments at angles to one another and all with legs forming a closed angular figure.
