The equipment is for dismantling artillery and mortar ammunition filled with explosive material. It involves closed chamber in which is a rotary machine with a rotatable clamp chuck (2) for retention of an item of ammunition (1) with a downwardly pointing point (1.1) and with a rotary steel (4.2) automatically applicable radially to the cover of the ammunition. In the area beneath the rotary steel and the ammunition is a first catchment device (6) for outwardly flowing explosive material and a second catchment device (7) for separated ammunition points. The ammunition is automatically fed to the clamping chuck and its residues after dismantling are automatically fed away for disposal.
