A punching unit (3) possessing a punching tool (4) has a lowering appliance (8) gripping the blister pack (1) and mounted height-adjustably in the punching unit above the packed goods chain (9). The lowering appliance, punching tool and packed goods chain are positioned beneath each other in vertical gradations. The punching tool is in the form of a punching frame through which the lowering appliance reaches into the packed goods chain when depositing the blister pack. The lowering appliance has a variable stroke. The capacity to which the blister packs are filled is monitored by a control unit.
