In a two stepped gas pressure controller, the control valve that sets and adjusts the intermediate pressure has a valve piston and seal which is a friction fit in the piston bore and provides resistance to oscillation. The control valve setting and adjusting the output pressure includes a compensation diaphragm which operates a valve disk combination, this valve is frictionless and provides hysteresis free regulation.
