The fluid coupling has a tubular holder section (1) and a tubular insert section (2), pushed together and locked in place. A ring groove (19) in the holder section (1), to accommodate a sealing ring (3), is defined by two sections (1a1,1a2) of the holder (1) which are pushed together and welded. The end of one of the sections (1a1) has a concentric groove (11) to the end of the other section (1a2), which has a ring bead to fit into the base of the groove at one side of the welded seam (15). The sealing ring (3) shrouds the welded seam (15) against fluid contact. The holder section (1) and the inserted section (2) are of a thermoplastic material
