The invention relates to a method for storing latent cold and to a latent cold storage device (1) for temperatures between 2 and 12 DEG C, for integrating in a cold water network. Water is used as the transport medium and is guided past a storage medium for supplying cold (charging) and for receiving cold (discharging). The storage medium is separated from the transport medium by a dividing wall. An industrial quality n-tetradecane or n-pentadecane is used as a storage medium (3).
