The handling tongs (5) project centrally (8) at right angles from a base frame (4) and can swivel sideways for action round a vertical axis (5) and are held adjustably and centrally by a re-setter (7) which engages both sides of the frame. The tongs (1) also rotate round an horizontal axis (6) projecting normal to axis (5) and can be returned to their central position by first and second re-setters working as a unit. In this re-set position the tongs stand open in the vertical plane. The frame (4) is composed of a tube rectangle with top and bottom crossbars (11,12) and side bearers (19) and is fitted at the rear (10) with coupling hooks (13) on bar (11) and with eared coupling plates on the bottom bar (12) for bolts when hooking to tractors, loaders etc. The vertical axis (5) is on the frame front side (9) in the center and is carried top and bottom in bearing tubes (16) of which the top tube is on a projecting bracket (15) off crossbar (11) thus allowing the tongs to swing 90 deg at least to both sides. The horizontal axis (6) is welded to axis (5) and, with the tongs centered (9), the axis (6) is carried in a rotary tube (17) fixed to both cheeks (18) of the tongs bottom jaw (2) so the tongs swing to both sides through 90 deg , preferably a full 180 deg angle.
