The method involves selecting a freely adjustable time interval between the laser pulses of different semiconducting laser diodes by varying the phase angle of the drive signals of one or more diodes. Several diodes are used in a self-injection configuration (50,51). A common pulse propagation and/or pulse variation of the pulses of all diodes takes place in optical waveguides.
