The powered sheet holder system, for a sheet feed cylinder at a rotary printing press, has a number of grippers (2) at a gripper shaft (3). A cam carrier (4) is keyed to one end of the gripper shaft (3), in contact with a roller (12) at the end of a lever (6). The lever works with a further lever (15) which carries a roller (10) at its free end, and a fixed swivel joint (7) is between the levers (6,15). A control cam (11) acts on the roller (10), to transmit the movements through the levers (6,15) to the cam carrier (4) at the gripper shaft (3).
