The rollover regulator has devices for producing first and second parameters representing the degree of roll and the rate of change of roll angle of the vehicle and a device for regulating the vehicle braking system to perform a desired deceleration of the vehicle if the first parameter exceeds a related threshold, whereby the desired deceleration is increased from a defined minimum to a defined maximum in accordance with an increase in the second parameter.
