An inertial drive to generate thrust for all types of vehicle has two identical masses made of materials with different molecular structure. When the masses are driven by equal and opposite impact forces applied at their adjoining ends the different propagation speeds of the impact through the masses generates thrust. The system can be applied to earth bound vehicle or to space vehicles.
