Following the manufacture of sausages, the sausages in their skins are coated (4) with a spray paste assembly (1). The assembly (1) has a conveyer belt (3) from which the individual sausages (2) hang as the spray jets (6) move up and down. The spray unit is a cavity-walled tubular bush.
