The invention relates to a magazine (21) for stocking up rolls of coins (3), comprising a guiding housing for rolls of coins (3) arranged so that they are parallel, one behind the other, a roll stop (28) for the front roll of coins (3a) which is next to be removed, and a removal opening located above said front roll (3a). The inventive magazine (21) also has a locking element (35) for freeing the removal opening or locking it at least partially to avoid any unauthorised removal of rolls of coins from the magazine. The dimensions of the magazines are adapted to suit the length and diameter of the rolls of coins and can be placed in a dispensing device, for example on intermediate surfaces inclined towards the take-out end.
