The dispenser is used to both store and dispense meals that are arranged on trays (A). The trays are stored in a storage compartment (1) with a mobile shelf arrangement (2) where the trays are stacked on sliders (3). A tray remover (4) is arranged inside the compartment underneath the mobile shelf arrangement of the stack of trays. The tray remover moves the trays in a horizontal direction and uses a chain (6) driven by a reduction motor (7).
